Austin Kingsley Swift (born March 11, 1992)[1] is an American music executive, producer, and former actor who has appeared in films such asLive by Night andI.T. (both 2016). The younger brother of singer-songwriterTaylor Swift, he has appeared in and produced several of her music videos, and manages elements of hermusic licensing for multimedia uses.[2]

Swift was born inWest Reading, Pennsylvania. He graduated from theUniversity of Notre Dame in 2015, studying film and acting in plays. Swift interned atLionsgate and made his film debut in the 2016 thrillerI.T. Swift has appeared in various films and TV shows, includingEmbeds,Still the King,Cover Versions,Braking for Whales, andWe Summon the Darkness.

Early life

Austin Kingsley Swift was born on March 11, 1992, atReading Hospital inWest Reading, Pennsylvania. His father, Scott Swift, is a financial advisor atMerrill Lynch, and his mother, Andrea Gardner Swift (née Finlay), is a former homemaker who had previously worked as amutual fund marketing executive. His maternal grandmother,Marjorie Finlay, was anopera singer.[3] Swift's mother is ofScottish andGerman descent; and his father is of Scottish andEnglish descent with distantItalian ancestry.[4] Swift's paternal great-great-grandfather,Charles Carmine Antonio Baldi, was anItalian immigrant entrepreneur and community leader who opened several businesses inPhiladelphia in the 1800s.[5][6] Swift moved fromWyomissing, Pennsylvania, toHendersonville, Tennessee with his family at a young age.[7]

Swift attendedPope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School in Hendersonville. He graduated from theUniversity of Notre Dame in 2015,[8] where he studied film and had roles in plays such asDead Man's Cell Phone andSix Characters in Search of an Author. Swift transferred toVanderbilt University but eventually transferred back to Notre Dame to complete his studies.[9]

Career

Swift interned atLionsgate, where his responsibilities included making and sending outscreeners.[10] He made his film debut in the 2016 thrillerI.T. starringPierce Brosnan. Swift has also appeared inLive by Night,Megyn Kelly's political dramaEmbeds,[11] sitcomStill the King,[12] andTodd Berger'sCover Versions.[10] In 2019, he starred in theindie movieBraking for Whales, originally titledWhaling, written byTammin Sursok and her husband Sean McEwen,[13][14][15] and in thehorrorthrillerWe Summon the Darkness, directed byMarc Meyers.[16]
