Atilio Genaro Ancheta Weigel (born 19 July 1948) is a singer and former footballer fromUruguay, who played for thenational team at the1970 FIFA World Cup.[2]

Career

He was adefender and spent most of his career withGrêmio Football Porto-Alegrense, appearing in 164Campeonato Brasileiro Série A matches.[3] In 1973, he was the first recipient of theBrazilianBola de Ouro award alongside fellow expatriate,Santos goalkeeperAgustín Cejas.

Ancheta made 20 appearances for theUruguay national football team from 1969 to 1971.[1][4]

In 2022, Ancheta was a contestant at the Brazilian talent showThe Voice +.
