Atasha Aaron Bonnin Muhlach (Tagalog pronunciation:[ˈmulak]; born November 5, 2001) is a Filipino actress, singer, television host, and model. She is the daughter ofAga Muhlach andCharlene Gonzales. Muhlach started her career as a television host onE.A.T., which was later rebranded asEat Bulaga!, after signing a contract withViva Entertainment.

Personal life

Muhlach was born on November 5, 2001, atMakati Medical Center inMakati,Metro Manila, to actorAga Muhlach and former beauty queen, model, and hostCharlene Gonzales.[1] She has a twin brother,Andres Muhlach, who was born two minutes younger, and an older half-brother, Luigi "Iggy Boy" Muhlach, Aga's son with actressJanice de Belen.[2] She and Andres werebaptized as Catholics on January 8, 2002, at Saint James the Great Parish inMuntinlupa.[3][4]

After graduating from theBritish School Manila inTaguig, Muhlach attendedNottingham Trent University in England, where she pursued a business-related course.[5]

Muhlach attended the prestigiousLe Bal des Débutantes in November 2022, an annual event inParis, France, with a select group of 20–25 girls from around the world to raise funds for young women's charities.[6][7]

Months prior to her debut as a noontime show host, she earned a business degree with honors from Nottingham on July 28, 2023. Muhlach is a fitness enthusiast and athlete. Apart fromswimming,marathon,basketball,golf, boxing and having played for the under-18 women's nationalrugby team, she also enjoys water sports such aswakeboarding,jet skiing,parasailing, diving andsnorkelling.[8]

Career

Muhlach has appeared inJollibee commercials since her childhood, featuring her parents and twin brother Andres.[9] In 2011, she played Brigitta von Trapp, the third-youngestvon Trapp child, in a local production ofThe Sound of Music at theNewport Performing Arts Theater.[10]

With her family already in showbusiness, Muhlach entered the industry after completing business school in Nottingham because her parents encouraged her to focus more on her studies.[11]

During her contract signing withViva Entertainment in July 2023, she disclosed that her aspiration to join the showbusiness industry had been a dream since she was a kid.[12]

On September 23, 2023, Muhlach was introduced as the newest co-host ofE.A.T., now rebranded asEat Bulaga! and before her introduction, hostsVic Sotto andJoey de Leon described her as a fashionista, studious, performer, artist, and family-oriented.[13][11][14]

On October 25, 2023, Muhlach released her first single, "Pasuyo", underVicor Music, a record label underViva Records, which was praised by fans and fellow celebrities for its relatable pop arrangement with composition by Kyle Raphael and produced by JP Verona.[15]

Atasha joined her parents and twin brother, Andres, in a sitcom—marking their first-ever acting project as a family—after officially signing a contract on January 26, 2024, to collaborate withMediaQuest Ventures,Cignal,TV5,Viva Films,Studio Viva, andViva Entertainment.[16]
