Arvind Mohan Kayastha (Hindi:अरविन्द मोहन कायस्थ) (born August 1, 1960) is an IndianBiologist[1] in the field of plant biochemistry and enzyme technology. He is a Professor at the School of Biotechnology,Banaras Hindu University and was the coordinator of theSchool of Biotechnology.[2] He is a fellow ofNational Academy of Sciences, India,[3]National Academy of Agricultural Sciences,[4] andNational Academy of Medical Sciences.[5]
Kayastha earned hisB.Sc. in 1979 and hisM.Sc. (biochemistry) in 1982 fromBanaras Hindu University.[2] He earned aPh.D. inenzymology fromBanaras Hindu University in 1988. Following his Ph.D., Kayastha was a postdoctoral associate at theNational Institutes of Health and at theUniversity of California, Riverside.
Kayastha has published about 167 research articles in peer reviewed journals. He specializes inplant biochemistry andenzyme technology. He has been on the editorial boards of several journals[2] in related fields, including theJournal of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology[6] published bySpringer Science+Business Media.
