Born and raised inVirginia Water to a Swedish father and a mother of Indian heritage, Lindblad began competitivekart racing aged seven, winning several national and continental titles. Aprotégé of2024–25 Formula E World ChampionOliver Rowland, Lindblad graduated tojunior formulae aged 15, competing inItalian F4 from2022 to2023, and finishing third in the latter withPrema. After winning inFormula 4 at theMacau Grand Prix, Lindblad progressed toFIA Formula 3 in2024, achieving several wins and placing fourth. He then won his first title at theFormula Regional Oceania Championship withM2 Competition. Lindblad graduated toFIA Formula 2 withCampos for the2025 season, becoming the youngest winner inFormula 2 history.
A member of theRed Bull Junior Team since 2021, Lindblad is set to debut in Formula One withRacing Bulls in2026.
Arvid Anand Olof Lindblad was born on 8 August 2007 inVirginia Water, Surrey, England.[1] His father, Stefan Lindblad, is Swedish, while his mother, Anita Lindblad (née Ahuja), is of Indian heritage.[2][3] He has a younger brother named Amil.[4] Lindblad was raised in Virginia Water and educated at theRoyal Grammar School inGuildford.[2][3]
Lindblad was first involved in motorsport when he was given amotocross bike aged three.[2]
Lindblad first startedkarting aged five atDaytona Sandown Park inEsher.[2] He progressed to competitive kart racing in 2015.[5] Aged nine, Lindblad was taken under the wing ofOliver Rowland.[2] In 2020 he won theWSK Super Master Series in theOKJ class.[6] Signing to theRed Bull Junior Team in 2021,[7] he won theWSK Euro Series and theWSK Final Cup forOK karts.[8][9] He moved to shifter karting in 2022.[9] A nasty accident occurred during theChampions of the Future Winter Series kart race where he crashed out during qualifying heat due to contact and suffered a broken thumb and extensive tissue damage.[10][11]

In 2022, Lindblad made his debut single-seater racing by joiningVan Amersfoort Racing ahead of the fifth round of theItalian F4 Championship after testing outside of race weekends throughout the year.[12][13][14] He was able to amass three points finishes with his best finish being seventh place, putting him 17th in the standings with twelve points.[15]
Ahead of the season, Lindblad joinedHitech Grand Prix to compete in theFormula 4 UAE Championship.[16] In race 3 of the opening round held at theDubai Autodrome, Lindblad took his firstFormula 4 win as he fended offFerrari Driver Academy driverTuukka Taponen from pole position.[17][18] However, this proved a false dawn as Lindblad only scored 26 points in the following two rounds, which dropped him out of the hunt.[19][20] Despite this, Lindblad notched up a podium during the season finale inYas Marina, putting him fifth in the standings.[21]

For his main campaign inItalian F4, Lindblad joinedPrema Racing.[5] He got off to a great start, taking his first win during theImola opener inclusive of two other podiums.[22] He then proceeded to secure a double win inMisano.[23] An impressive feat followed after winning all three races atMonza Circuit he opened up his championship lead to over 80 points.[24] However during the final three rounds, his Prema machinery began to struggle with a lack of pace, leading to Lindblad not even taking a podium finish.[25] This allowed rivalsKacper Sztuka and teammateUgo Ugochukwu to overhaul him in the standings, leading Lindblad to finish third in the standings.[26]
In theEuro 4 Championship, Lindblad had a solid start as he secured pole for the openingMugello round, where he went on to finish fourth.[27] He then went on to take his only Euro 4 win during the final race inMonza, and another podium inBarcelona lifted him to fourth in the overall standings.[28]
In November, Lindblad joined Prema to compete in theFormula 4 South East Asia Championship round at theMacau Grand Prix Circuit.[29] In a chaotic qualifying, Lindblad was able to secure pole position,[30][31] before following it up by winning the qualification race.[32][33] His dominance continued the next day, where Lindblad was able to pull away and take home the victory in the main race.[34][35] Lindblad's overall performances netted him as a finalist in theAston Martin Autosport BRDC Award alongsideTaylor Barnard,Callum Voisin andJoseph Loake.[36]
In the pre-season of 2024, Lindblad signed withMumbai Falcons to participate in the first three rounds of theFormula Regional Middle East Championship.[37] He impressed in the opening round inYas Marina by winning the second race from reverse pole.[38] Although he only scored three more points in the remaining two rounds, his performances placed him thirteenth overall in the standings.

In October 2023, Lindblad signed to race withPrema Racing in theFIA Formula 3 Championship for 2024, partnering single-seater championsGabriele Minì andDino Beganovic.[18] Qualifying ninth inBahrain, Lindblad got off to a great start by winning the sprint race, where he managed his tyres early on before dispatching his rivals in the closing laps and crossing the line five seconds ahead.[39][40][41] In the feature race, Lindblad finished in a solid eighth place.[42] He qualified seventh inMelbourne,[43] and put up another overtaking masterclass in the sprint race, enabling him to score a second place podium; he overtookChristian Mansell andLaurens van Hoepen but was held at bay by eventual winnerMartinius Stenshorne following a safety car restart.[44][45] Despite moving up to the top 5 in the first half of the race, he struggled with tyres and slipped back to eleventh at the flag.[46] Lindblad continued to pick up points inImola where he finished the races in eighth and seventh having qualified fourth.[47] Lindblad's first retirement came in theMonaco sprint race, after he was involved in a multi-car collision on the opening lap.[48] The next day however, he secured his best feature race result up to that point with fourth place.[49] Lindblad secured a best qualifying result inBarcelona with a front row start.[50] After finishing ninth in the sprint race,[51] Lindblad overtook polesitter Mansell on lap 4 of the feature race and dominated from there onwards, becoming the youngest feature race winner in FIA F3 history.[52][53] His good qualifying continued intoAustria where he secured another front row.[54] He retired from the sprint race due to a puncture sustained in a battle withSami Meguetounif whilst fighting just outside the points.[55] Lindblad also suffered contact fromAlex Dunne which caused him to drop to seventh place.[56][57]

Silverstone became a standout for Lindblad, who first dominantly won the sprint race after taking the lead fromNoel León at the start.[58][59] The next day, Lindblad made the correct decision to pit for dry tyres during the formation lap on a wet but drying track; progressing to second from where he would inherit the feature race win following a penalty forCallum Voisin.[60][61] In winning both races, Lindblad became the first driver in FIA F3 history to do the double — win both races of a two-race weekend — and put himself into second in the championship with three rounds remaining.[62][63] However, this would be Lindblad's last points finish of the season as a string of poor qualifying results atHungary,Spa, andMonza contributed to finishes outside the top ten. Race-ending incidents withMatías Zagazeta andChristian Mansell contributed to his non-scores in the former two feature races. Additionally, a collision with Voisin in the last-named round, led to a penalty that demoted Lindblad from ninth to 16th in the feature race.[64] Despite dropping to fourth in the standings, Lindblad ended the season as the highest-scoring rookie and helped Prema to win the teams' championship for a third successive year.[65][66] Lindblad was again selected as a finalist for theAston Martin Autosport BRDC Award for 2024, alongsideFreddie Slater,Louis Sharp andDeagen Fairclough.[67]
In preparation for hisFormula 2 campaign in 2025, Lindblad competed in theFormula Regional Oceania Championship withM2 Competition.[68] He started the year off with three podiums in all three races at the season opener atTaupo International Motorsport Park, which included a pole position and win in the third race.[69] Lindblad continued his podium streak atHampton Downs, this time scoring two poles and two victories in races 1 and 3 respectively, while he finished the second race in third.[70]
Lindblad won the first race atManfeild, but his seven-race podium streak came to an end during a wet second race, finishing in fourteenth place following asafety car restart.[71] He bounced back in the third race to take his fifth pole and win of the year, expanding his gap to 40 points from nearest rivalNikita Johnson.[72] During race 1 of theTeretonga Park round, Lindblad achieved pole position and the fastest lap, finishing in second place behind teammateMatías Zagazeta.[73] Lindblad came in sixth during race 2 and claimed another victory in race 3, expanding his championship margin to 59 points ahead of Johnson.[74]
Lindblad clinched the champion atHighlands Motorsport Park, finishing the race in second place, due to the fact that he finished ahead of rivals Johnson andZack Scoular.[75][76] Lindblad retired from race 2 after he was caught in an opening crash involving Zagazeta,Patrick Heuzenroeder, andMichael Shin.[75][77] Lindblad bounced back during the season-endingNew Zealand Grand Prix, finishing third. Overall, Lindblad finished the season with six wins and 370 points. Additionally, he was able to gain 18 points for hisFIA Super Licence for winning the championship.[75][78]
In September 2024, Lindblad announced that he would be promoted toFIA Formula 2 withCampos Racing for2025.[79] Ahead of the season, Lindblad remarked that he was "filled with confidence" and anticipated a "really big challenge".[80] After finishing just outside the points during theMelbourne sprint,[81] he had an improved performance inBahrain despite qualifying sixteenth, making up positions to finish fifth in thesprint race and eighth in thefeature.[82] InJeddah, Lindblad qualified fifth.[83] After benefitting from a mistake fromPepe Martí, Lindblad went on to finish second on the road, but was promoted to the win afterRichard Verschoor was penalised.[a] This made Lindblad the youngest Formula 2 winner in history at 17 years and 254 days.[85] In the feature race, he finished seventh.[86] He qualified sixth inImola,[87] and finished in second during the sprint following a strong start.[88] A slow stop during the pit cycle dropped Lindblad out of podium contention in the feature race, which he placed fourth.[89] InMonaco, Lindblad received a ten-second penalty for causing a collision withJak Crawford, this dropped him off the podium to eighth.[90] History repeated itself the next day as he was set to finish third during the feature race, but dropped to fifth after a penalty for speeding in the pit lane.[91]Barcelona became a standout for Lindblad, as he claimed pole position became the second-youngestpolesitter in F2 history behindThéo Pourchaire.[92] After finishing eighth in the sprint despite a tangle withRichard Verschoor,[93] he successfully converted his pole to feature race victory in his team's home race.[94][95]
A challenging patch of form followed starting fromAustria, where he scored no points after collisions withLuke Browning andOliver Goethe in the sprint and feature race respectively,[96] and finished eighth in a wetSilverstone feature race.[97] He qualified fifth inSpa-Francorchamps, and made his way to second in a damp feature race,[98] but was disqualified for illegal tyre pressures.[99] InBudapest, Lindblad was embroiled in a contentious battle with teammate Martí, but struggled with tyres late on and finished fourth, but dropped to tenth after a penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage.[100] He finished sixth in the feature race on the alternate strategy.[101] Lindblad returned to the podium during the sprint race inMonza, finishing second,[102] but was criticised for his collisions during the feature race withAlex Dunne andRoman Staněk, earning Lindblad a ten-place grid penalty for theBaku sprint race.[103] He did not fare much better there, although he managed a sixth place finish in the feature race.[104]
Lindblad qualified seventeenth inQatar, but he finished fourth in the feature race after a gamble to fit softs early on the alternate strategy despite a post-race investigation.[105][106]Abu Dhabi provided one last hurrah for Lindblad in the sprint, as he held offJoshua Dürksen to take his third win of the campaign from reverse pole.[107][108] An early safety car in the feature race compromised his alternate strategy, but he still salvaged a ninth place finish.[109] Lindblad finished the season sixth in the standings on 134 points with three wins from five podiums.[110]
For his 2021 campaign inkart racing, Lindblad joined theRed Bull Junior Team as aRed Bull–supported driver,[10][111] later becoming a full member ahead of his 2022 season, aged 14.[9] Lindblad first drove aFormula One car in September 2024, driving theRed Bull RB8 at aHouston showrun.[112] In February 2025, he completed his maiden private test in theAlphaTauri AT04 atImola.[113] After that he completed another test in Imola with the same car in June, alongsideAyumu Iwasa.[114] He raced against three on-footLeeds United F.C. players—Willy Gnonto,Largie Ramazani, andIsaac Schmidt—atElland Road in theRB7 in June.[115] Upon request from Red Bull, Lindblad was granted anFIA Super License aged 17, similar to the request approved forAndrea Kimi Antonelli in 2024.[116] He again tested the AT04 at Imola in June 2025, ahead of hisfree practice debut forRed Bull at theBritish Grand Prix,[117] where he set the fourteenth-fastest time.[118] Lindblad made an FP1 appearance for Red Bull at theMexico City Grand Prix in place ofMax Verstappen,[119] where he placed sixth fastest in the session.[120] He later replacedYuki Tsunoda during free practice of the season-endingAbu Dhabi Grand Prix.[121]
In December 2025,Racing Bulls signed Lindblad to race alongsideLiam Lawson in2026.[122]
