Armenia–Belarus relations are foreign relations betweenArmenia andBelarus. Before 1991, both countries were part of theUSSR,[1]and before then part of theRussian Empire. Both countries established diplomatic relations in 1993.[2] Armenia has an embassy inMinsk. Belarus has an embassy inYerevan. Both countries are full members of theEurasian Economic Union, theCollective Security Treaty Organization, of theOrganization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and of theCommonwealth of Independent States. There are around 30,000 people ofArmenian descent living in Belarus.[3]
Diplomatic relations between the countries were established on June 11–12, 1993. In the same year, the Embassy of Armenia opened in Belarus, and in 2001, the Embassy of Belarus opened in Armenia.[4]
On June 13, 2024, Armenian Prime MinisterNikol Pashinyan stated that no ambassador would visit Belarus as long asAlexander Lukashenko remains president. The reason for this statement was Minsk's position on theNagorno-Karabakh conflict.[5]
