Town of ancient Pontus

Argyria (Ancient Greek:Ἀργυρία) orArgyra (Ἀργυρά) was a town ofancient Pontus, located 20stadia east ofTripolis.[1][2] It was noted for its silver mines, whence the town's name (άργυρος is Greek for 'silver').

Its site is located nearHalkavala inAsiatic Turkey.[3][4]
