Ardhasovë (Albaniandefinite form:Ardhasova,Greek:Αρδάσοβα) is a village inVlorë County, southernAlbania. At the 2015 local government reform it became part of themunicipality ofFiniq.[1]
Linguist Yordan Zaimov reconstructs the toponym as Радашово,Radashovo.[2] Linguist Xhelal Ylli states the reconstruction is uncertain, although the Slavic possessive suffix indicates that aSlavic name giver must be considered.[2] The root is unclear.[2] InAlbanian, there isardhas andardhacak meaning newcomer, a formation from the verbvij 'to come':erdha 'came':kam ardhur 'have come' and Ylli writes the placename is a hybrid formation.[2]
The village is inhabited byGreeks and the population was 258 in 1992.[3]
