TheArchdeacon of Glasgow was the head of theArchdeaconry of Glasgow, a sub-division of theDiocese of Glasgow. He was one of two archdeacons serving theBishop of Glasgow, the other one being theArchdeacon of Teviotdale. Thisarchdeacon (Glasgow) was responsible for region of the Diocese of Glasgow outside theTeviotdale region of theScottish Borders region. The position was an important position within the medieval Scottish church, because of the high number ofparish churches in the archdeaconry.
