This commune is located roughly midway betweenSauveterre-de-Béarn to the northwest andNavarrenx to the south-east.
Araux is accessed by departmental roads 836 and 936.
Araux lies in theAdourwatershed. TheGave d'Oloron (a tributary of theGave de Pau)[3] and theLausset, a tributary,[4] flow through the commune. The Cassou dou Boue and the Lescuncette stream, both tributaries of the Harcellane stream (itself a tributary of the Lausset), also pass through the commune.
