TheApuli orBiefi were aDacian tribe centered at the Dacian townApulon (LatinApulum) near what is nowAlba Iulia inTransylvania,Romania.
Apuli has clear resemblance toApulia, the ancient southeasternItaly region, which is believed to have been settled byIllyrian tribes (also namedApuli orIapyges).
Linguists use it as an example for the similarities between Illyrian andDacian language.[1]
