Anupama Gowda is an Indian actress who works inKannada-language films and television shows. She is known for her work inAa Karaala Ratri (2018) andThrayambakam (2019). The latter won her theKarnataka State Film Award for Best Actress.
Gowda started her career as a child artist withLankesh Patrike in 2003.[1] She made her television debut with the reality showHalli Duniya before playing one of the leads inNagaari (2015), but the film was unnoticed at the box office.[2] She starred in the soap operaChi Sou Savitri before playing dual roles in the television seriesAkka.[3]
In late 2017, she came into the limelight after participating in the fifth season ofBig Boss Kannada. She debuted as an anchor for the television showKannada Kogile.[4] In 2018, she starred inAa Karaala Ratri withKarthik Jayaram and was acclaimed for her performance.[5] She played a journalist inThrayambakam (2019) starringRaghavendra Rajkumar and RJ Rohit.[6] She hosted the Kannada-language awards for the8th South Indian International Movie Awards with actorVijay Raghavendra.[2] She also worked as an anchor forMajaa Bharatha before leaving the show due to its interference with her film career.[7]
She also starred in the indie filmThe Fallen are connected directed byUrvi fame Pradeep Varma.[8]
She made her comeback to the television in the role of anchor in the reality showRaja Rani in 2021.[9] She then went on to host many reality shows in the next few years.[10]
