Antoon Postma (Hanunó'o:ᜠᜨ᜴ᜦᜳᜨ᜴ ᜩᜳᜰ᜴ᜦ᜴ᜫBuhid: ᝀᝈ᜔ᝆᝓᝈ᜔ ᝉᝓᝐ᜔ᝆ᜔ᝋ) (28 March 1929 – 22 October 2016)[1] was a Dutchanthropologist who married into and lived among the Hanunuo, aMangyan sub-tribe in southeasternMindoro,Philippines.[2] He is best known for being the first to decipher theLaguna Copperplate Inscription, and for documenting theHanunó'o script, paving the way for its preservation and understanding.
