Antonia Laura Thomas (born 3 November 1986) is a British actress. She is best known for her roles asAlisha Daniels in theE4 comedy-drama seriesMisfits, Evie Douglas in theChannel 4/Netflix comedy seriesLovesick andClaire Browne in theABC drama seriesThe Good Doctor.[1]
Antonia Laura Thomas was born inLondon in 1986, the daughter of a Jamaican mother, Veronica Thomas,[2] an NHS psychologist, and a British father.[2] She has two older sisters.[3] At age 12, she joined theNational Youth Music Theatre, and at age 13 she toured Japan in the musical Pendragon production, alongsideConnie Fisher.[2] She attended theBristol Old Vic Theatre School, graduating in 2009 with aBA in acting,[3] then joined theNational Youth Theatre.[4]
Thomas was cast asAlisha Daniels inMisfits in 2009,[5] one day after leaving Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.[3] She confirmed her exit fromMisfits in late 2011, stating that she had an "amazing time" on the show.[6] In 2012, she appeared in the music video for theColdplay song "Charlie Brown".[7]
In 2013, Thomas was in the filmSunshine on Leith,[8] alongsidePeter Mullan.[2]
In 2014, she played the role of Evie in the British rom-com TV showLovesick which aired onChannel 4, thenNetflix, for a second series.[9][10]
In 2015, Thomas was featured in the music video for theStereophonics' song "C'est La Vie" and narrated the opening and closing lines to the revival of the British children's television seriesTeletubbies.[2]
In 2017, she began appearing as Claire Browne in the American medical dramaThe Good Doctor.[11] She left at the end of the fourth season, returning as a guest star for seasons 5 and 7.
She will play the lead role ofTuppence in the mystery seriesAgatha Christie's Tommy & Tuppence.
