Theanterior ethmoidal foramen is a small opening in theethmoid bone in theskull.
Lateral to eitherolfactory groove are the internal openings of the anterior andposterior ethmoidal foramina (or canals).
The anterior ethmoidal foramen, situated about the middle of the lateral margin of the olfactory groove, transmits theanterior ethmoidal artery,vein andnerve. Theanterior ethmoidal nerve, a branch of thenasociliary nerve, runs in a groove along the lateral edge of thecribriform plate to the above-mentioned slit-like opening .
