Al-Ansari orAnsari is an Arab community, found predominantly in theArab andSouth Asian countries. They are descended from theAnsar ofMadinah.The Ansaris are anArabic speaking community, though the descendants of those who settled elsewhere outside ofArabia, speak the native language of the regions they settled in.[1]: 984 

History

The Ansaris are the descendants of theAnsar tribe ofMadinah. They are found throughout themiddle east andSouth Asia.The Ansaris that are still living today inArabia have migrated to other places such asQatar,Bahrain and other parts ofSaudi Arabia.The people of the Ansari tribe in South Asia are few. They arrived there when the son ofAbu Ayyub al-Ansari took part in theMuslim conquest of Khorasan and settled inHerat.[2] They are descended from the Sufi saintAbdullah Ansari and migrated to India in 1526 under theMughal SultanBabur.[3]Some Ansari settlements in south Asia can be found in,Yusufpur,Saharanpur,LucknowFirangi Mahal andPanipat.[4]
