Events

[edit]

The Annexet was built as a training venue for ice hockey, and also hosts concerts, fairs and conferences.[2] The firm Berg Arkitektkontor AB was responsible for the building's architecture.[3] Artists that the venue has hosted in concert includeAvril Lavigne,[4]Good Charlotte,[5]Lana Del Rey,Alice in Chains,Gavin DeGraw andJoakim Thåström.[2]

Annexet was used to host theafter-party at theEurovision Song Contest 2000. When Sweden hosted theEurovision Song Contest 2016, Annexet was chosen to be the location for the delegation area during the event.[3] TheKingsizegalan hip hop festival was held at Annexet in 2015.[6] The venue hosted the 2020Musikhjälpen.[7] Due to restrictions related to theCOVID-19 pandemic, all shows ofMelodifestivalen 2021, the competition to select Sweden's representative for theEurovision Song Contest 2021, were held in the Annexet with no audience present, contrasting with the usual tour of arenas in various cities across Sweden.[8][9]

In 2021, theSwedish Sports Awards were held in the Annexet instead of the usual venue, theGlobe Arena, also due to COVID-19 restrictions.[10] In January 2022 the venue hosted the awards for a second year.[11] In May 2022 the Annexet hosted theGrammis, the national music awards for Sweden.[12] It hosted again in 2023,[13] 2024,[14] and 2025.[15]
