She spoke out strongly against the Prostitution Bill (Bill C-36) proposed by theStephen Harper government, including attending protests[6] and making a written submission to theSenate of Canada.[2] Since the bill passed into law Crago has campaigned for its repeal.[7] She also campaigns fordecriminalizing sex work globally.[8]
In 2009 Crago co-ordinated and was the lead author[1] in research organised the Sex Workers' Rights Advocacy Network to study police violence against sex workers inEurope andCentral Asia.[9][10]
Crago was involved as an expert during the 2012 preparation of theWorld Health Organization'sRecommendations for Female, Male and Transgender Sex Workers.[2][1]
The Lancet produced a special issue for theXX International AIDS Conference, 2014. Crago was the co-editor and also co-author of the articleAn action agenda for HIV and sex workers[11] and co-author ofHuman rights violations against sex workers: burden and effect on HIV,[12] both articles appearing in this edition.[2]
