Ankeny Square is part of theNorth Park Blocks inPortland, Oregon. The square is south ofBurnside Street. One local reporter described it as "a little nub of SW Ankeny Street between Broadway and Park".[1]

In 2014, the square was home to a food cart pod called "Grubbin'". The pod emerged from plans byPortland Parks & Recreation (PPR) to revitalize the square.[2][3] In 2016, Amanda Waldroupe ofStreet Roots said the park, "for decades, has had a seedy reputation and attracted drug use, loitering and vandalism, as it fell into neglect and disrepair".[4] PPR also announced plans to start accepting business proposals,[5][6] and proposals for community projects.[4] The square began hosting theCart Blocks in 2021, following closure of theAlder Street food cart pod.[7]
