Anjali Bhimani is an American actress and voice actress. She is best known for voicingSymmetra in the video gameOverwatch and Rampart in the video gameApex Legends.
Bhimani was born inCleveland, Ohio,[1][2] the daughter of doctors Ela and Bharat Bhimani.[1] She is of IndianSindhi descent and grew up inOrange County, California.[1] She attendedNorthwestern University.[2][3]

Bhimani's long time collaboration withMary Zimmerman began in 1997 when she appeared as an Indian princess inMirror of the Invisible World, adapted from the 12th century Persian epicHaft Peykar.[4][5] She played Greek mythological characterMyrrha in Zimmerman-directedMetamorphoses's world premiere produced byLookingglass Theatre Company in 1998 and itsOff-Broadway opening at theSecond Stage Theatre in 2001.[6] Drama critic Albert Williams, in his review for theChicago Reader, called Bhimani a "stunning dancer".[7] She made her Broadway debut whenMetamorphoses opened atCircle in the Square Theatre (2002).[8][9]
In 2004, Bhimani became an understudy forAyesha Dharker andMadhur Jaffrey's characters inAndrew Lloyd Webber's musicalBombay Dreams. During the play'sThe Broadway Theatre production Dharker left the play and Bhimani took over her role.[10][11] She appeared as The Sparrow in Czech operaBrundibár (2006).[12] Quake, a play Bhimani co-produced and co-directed opened at theOpen Fist Theatre Company's First Look Festival of New Plays in 2011.[13] ForThe Jungle Book she re-teamed with Zimmerman and played the role of mother wolf in its 2013Goodman Theatre production.[4]
Bhimani has appeared in TV series includingAll My Children,Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,The Sopranos,Journeyman,Shark,Flight of the Conchords, andModern Family. She voiced the characterSymmetra in thefirst-person shooter video gameOverwatch, and shared the 2016 Behind the Voice Actors Award for Best Vocal Ensemble in a Video Game with her co-voice actors for the game.
In 2021, she guest starred onExandria Unlimited, a spinoff of theactual play web seriesCritical Role.[14] In 2023, she played Queen Amangeaux Epicée du Peche inDimension 20: The Ravening War.[15] In March 2025, she released her firstDungeons & Dragonsadventure module – titledThe Malady of Minarrh – onD&D Beyond via her company Road to Ithaka Press.[16][17]
