Anita Kulcsár (2 October 1976 – 19 January 2005)[1][2] was a Hungarianhandball player. She was votedIHF World Player of the Year in 2004 by theInternational Handball Federation.
She began her handball career withNyíregyházi Kölcsey and later played forGyőri Graboplast ETO,Cornexi-Alcoa andDunaferr NK.
She died in a car accident on 19 January 2005, at the age of 28;[3] according to the police report, she was driving fromSukoró toDunaújváros for team practice when her car slid off the road and hit a tree.[1] Since her death, the city ofDunaújváros organizes theAnita Kulcsár Memorial Tournament in her honor every year.
