Angelique Stannett (born 15 April 1997) is anAustralian rules footballer and the captain of theFremantle Football Club in theAFL Women's (AFLW). She is a formersoccer player forPerth Glory in theW-League.

Early life

Stannett was born in New Zealand, arriving in Australia with her family at the age of three.[1]

Soccer career

Stannett took up soccer at the age of six, playing for Sutherlands Park in the southern suburbs of Perth. Stannett played six matches for Perth Glory during the2015–16 W-League season.[2][3]

Australian rules football career

Stannett was drafted by Fremantle as arookie signing.[4][5] She made her debut in the four point win againstMelbourne atCasey Fields in the opening round of the2019 season.[6]

Playing forSwan Districts in the 2019WAFL Women's competition, Stannett won the Mandy McSherry Medal, the teams's fairest and best award, as well as the team's rookie of the year award.[7]

Stannett finished the2023 AFL Women's season having wonFremantle's fairest and best award.[8] She was namedFremantle captain ahead of the2024 AFL Women's season.[9]

Stannett was previously in a relationship with Perth Glory captainNatasha Rigby.[10][11]
