Andy Stirling (born 5 March 1990) is aScottishfootballer who plays as amidfielder forScottish League Two clubEast Kilbride. Stirling has previously played forStenhousemuir,East Stirlingshire,Kitsap Pumas,Dunfermline Athletic,Stirling Albion,Dumbarton,Queen of the South,Alloa Athletic,Stranraer F.C andDarvel.
Born inPaisley, Stirling signed a full-time contract with his local clubSt Mirren at sixteen years old[1] and was released by theBuddies three years later.
Stirling signed forScottish Second Division clubStenhousemuir[2] and made over 40 appearances in two seasons.
Stirling then moved to local rivalsEast Stirlingshire.[3] He was with the Shire for two seasons also. During this time, Stirling had a brief spell withWashington state clubKitsap Pumas.[1]
Stirling returned to Scotland in July 2013 and signed forScottish League One clubStranraer. After an impressive season atStair Park he was included in the2013–14 Scottish League OneTeam of the Year.[4]
Stirling was then given the option to return to full-time football with League One rivalsDunfermline Athletic. In May 2014, Stirling became the Pars managerJim Jefferies' third signing of the 2014 close season.[1] After 15 appearances for the side, Stirling was sent out on loan toStirling Albion with managerJohn Potter confirming the move had been sanctioned to give Stirling more first-team football.[5] After an unsuccessful season with Dunfermline, Stirling was released by theEast End Park club.[6]
Stirling signed once again for Stranraer in May 2015.[7] His first appearance after re-signing for theStair Park club was in a 2–0 defeat versus Queen of the South in theScottish Challenge Cup.[8] Stirling's first goal for Stranraer was versusAyr United in August 2015.[9] After just one season with the Blues Stirling again moved on.
Stirling then signed forScottish Championship clubDumbarton on a one-year contract.[10] He scored his first goal for the Sons in a 1–1 draw versus his first clubSt Mirren in September 2016.[11]
After impressing during the2016–17 season againstQueen of the South, Stirling signed a pre-contract with theDumfries club on 24 April 2017, agreeing a two-year deal from the summer of 2017.[12] Stirling scored his first league goal for the Doonhamers on 9 September 2017 in a 2–2 draw away toLivingston.
On 30 January 2018, Stirling returned to the Sons on loan from Queens until the end of the2017–18 season.[13]
On 19 June 2019, Stirling signed a one-year contract withAlloa Athletic.[14] He left the club on 3 September 2019.[15]
