Andrew Walter Bowling (born September 25, 1945) is an American former professionalfootball player who was alinebacker for one season with theAtlanta Falcons of theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football atVirginia Tech and was selected by theSt. Louis Cardinals in the fourth round of the1967 NFL/AFL draft.
Andrew Walter Bowling was born on September 25, 1945, inLynchburg, Virginia.[1] He attendedE. C. Glass High School in Lynchburg.[1]
He was a member of theVirginia Tech Hokies from 1963 to 1966 and a three-yearletterman from 1964 to 1966.[1]
Bowling was selected by theSt. Louis Cardinals in the fourth round, with the 105th overall pick, of the1967 NFL draft.[2] He signed with the Cardinals but was waived later in 1967.[3]
Bowling claimed off waivers by theAtlanta Falcons in 1967.[3] He played in six games for the Falcons during the 1967 season, recovering one fumble.[2] He was released in 1968.[3]
