Androvax, also known asandrostenedione:human serum albumin conjugate, is animmunogen andvaccine againstandrostenedione that is used inveterinary medicine to increase theovulation rate and number oflambs born toewes.^[1]^[2]^[3] It is aconjugate ofandrostenedione andhuman serum albumin.^[1]^[3] The drug is marketed inNew Zealand.^[1]^[3]

Androvax producesimmunity against androstenedione, and the generation ofantibodies against androstenedione decreases circulating levels of androstenedione.^[1] In addition, since androstenedione is the majorprecursor ofestrogens, estrogen levels are decreased as well.^[1] This is thought to result in reducednegative feedback on thehypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis and increasedgonadotropin secretion, which in turn improvesfertility andfecundity.^[1]
