Andrew M. Kuzma[4] (bornc. 1996[1]) is an American politician who represents the39th District in thePennsylvania House of Representatives since 2023.[2]
In 2014, Kuzma graduated fromElizabeth Forward High School. In 2018, he attained aB. S. degree in Biological Sciences from theUniversity of Pittsburgh. In 2021, Kuzma obtained hisJuris Doctor degree fromDuquesne University.[2]
Kuzma, an attorney by trade, was a commissioner inElizabeth Township inAllegheny County, Pennsylvania for six years.[1][5] He began his tenure in 2016 and resigned from the board of commissioners in 2021 after moving out of the ward he represented. From 2019 to 2020 Kuzma was president of the board.[6]
In 2022, Kuzma challenged incumbent Pennsylvania State RepresentativeMike Puskaric in theRepublican primary election. Kuzma had previously supported Puskaric'sDemocratic opponent in the 2018 election. Kuzma's platform includedschool choice, election reform, and opposition to theRegional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.[7] He defeated Puskaric with 58% of the vote.[8] Kuzma later defeated Democrat Rick Self in the general election.[5]
