Lieutenant GeneralSir Andrew John Noble Graham, 5th Baronet,CB, CBE (born 21 October 1956) is theColonel of theRoyal Regiment of Scotland and was Director General of theDefence Academy of the United Kingdom.
Graham is the son ofSir John Graham, 4th Baronet: he succeeded as 5th Baronet on his father's death on 11 December 2019.[1] He was educated atEton College andTrinity College, Cambridge.[2]
Graham wascommissioned into theArgyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise's) in 1975.[3][4] He was appointed aMember of the Order of the British Empire in the1993 New Year Honours,[5] became Commanding Officer of his regiment in 1995 and commander of the3rd Infantry Brigade in 1999.[4] He served in Northern Ireland in 2001, for which he was advanced toCommander of the Order of the British Empire,[6] and was appointed Director Army Resources and Plans. He went on to be Deputy Commanding GeneralMulti-National Corps – Iraq in early 2004 and Director General Army Training & Recruiting Agency later in 2004.[4] He became theRoyal Regiment of Scotland's first Colonel from 31 March 2007,[7] as well asDirector General of theDefence Academy of the United Kingdom from 2008.[4] He was appointed aCompanion of the Order of the Bath in the2011 Birthday Honours.[8]
Graham unsuccessfully stood for theConservative Party in the2016 England and Wales police and crime commissioner elections in Dorset.[9][10]
