Andrea Bartolini (born November 1968) is anItalian former professionalmotocross racer. He competed in theMotocross World Championships from 1988 to 2003. Bartolini is notable for winning the 1999 500cc motocross world championship.[1]

Motocross racing career

Born inImola, Italy, Bartolini competed for theYamaha motocross team run by former world championMichele Rinaldi.[2] He finished fifth in the 500cc motocross world championships in 1997 and 1998 before winning the title in 1999.[1][3] In 2003, he placed third in the 125cc motocross world championship.[4]

Bartolini was a member of two victorious ItalianMotocross des Nations teams, winning the event in 1999 with teammatesAlessio Chiodi and Claudio Federici then, in 2002 with teammates Chiodi andAlessandro Puzar.[5][6] In 2005 he competed in theSupermoto world championships. He remains the only Italian to have won a 500cc motocross world championship.
