Andoa is classified as Critically Endangered by theUNESCOAtlas of the World's Languages in Danger.

Andoa is an extinctZaparoanlanguage ofEcuador andPeru.[2] It was found in thePastaza River region ofEcuador and Peru. It is also known as Shimigae/Semigae and Gae/Gay.[citation needed] TheAndoa people have integrated into theQuechua and now speak eitherCanelos-Quechua orSpanish. The last known speaker, Hipólito Arahuanaza, died in 2012.
