Anderson Santamaría Bardales (born 10 January 1992) is a Peruvian professionalfootballer who plays as aCentre-back for clubUniversitario de Deportes and thePeru national team.[3]

Club career

Santamaría made his debut forAyacucho in the later stages of the2010 season, in a 2–0 win againstJosé Gálvez.[4] On 2 January 2013, he joinedLeón de Huánuco signing a two-year contract.[5] On 5 January 2015, he renewed his contract signing a one-year extension.[6] In December 2015, he joined the2015 Primera División champion,Melgar.[7] On 20 December 2017, he announced that he was leaving Melgar[8] and joiningLiga MX clubPuebla, for a $500K fee.[9]

Santamaría joinedLiga MX sidePuebla on 20 December 2017.[10] He made his debut on 17 January 2018 in a 3–1 win againstCruz Azul inCopa MX,[11] where he had multiple defensive interventions that garnered the fans' plaudits.[12] On 12 December 2018, he joinedAtlas on loan.[13] Later in the year, on 18 July, he permanently joined the Guadalajara club.[14] On 12 November 2021 he renewed his contract until 2025.[15] A month later, on 13 December, he helped Atlas win theApertura 2021, their first title in over 70 years, be beatingLeón 4–3 on penalties after a 3–3 draw.[16] On 30 May 2022, he helped Altas winClausura 2022.[17]

International career

In May 2018, he was named in Peru's provisional 24 mansquad for the2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.[18]
