Anass Achahbar (Arabic:أنس أشهبار; born 13 January 1994) is a Dutch professionalfootballer who plays as amidfielder forVierde Divisie clubWestlandia.[1]
Born inThe Hague, Achahbar made his professional debut forFeyenoord on 28 August 2011, as he replacedKelvin Leerdam in the 81st minute of theEredivisie home match againstHeerenveen (2–2).[2]
Achahbar scored his first goal for Feyenoord in the 93rd minute of the first leg of theUEFA Europa League qualifier againstSparta Prague inDe Kuip, an important equalizer that meant that Feyenoord came away with a 2–2 draw.[3]
On 22 August 2013, Achahbar was sent on loan atArminia Bielefeld until the end of the season.[4] He made 11 appearances in the2. Bundesliga for the club, and also played in theOberliga Westfalen for the second team. After his loan, he returned to Feyenoord for the 2014–15 season.[5]
On 21 May 2016, Achahbar signed a four-year contract withEredivisie sidePEC Zwolle.[6] In his first season at the club, he made 20 total appearances in which he scored one goal.[5]
On 28 June 2017, Achahar joined second-tierEerste Divisie clubNEC on loan.[7] He made his debut on 8 September 2017 in the 3–0 loss toDen Bosch. He came on forJanio Bikel after 65 minutes. He suffered a number of injuries during his first period at the club. He had five stitches placed in his foot, broke a finger and had an injury to his shoulder.[8] On 24 November, he made his return againstJong Ajax. On 27 November, he scored his first goal of the season againstTelstar.[9] On 22 December, he scored the first hat-trick of his career againstJong AZ (7–2 victory).[10] In the following game against Go Ahead Eagles (5–1 win), he scored another hat-trick.[11] Achahbar was loaned out to NEC for a second season in the 2018–19 season.[12] In January 2019, after an argument with trainerJack de Gier during the away match againstEindhoven, he was demoted to the second team together withBrahim Darri and did not return to the first team after that.[13]
In the summer of 2019 Achahbar would return to PEC Zwolle, but eventually PEC Zwolle and Achahbar decided to terminate the ongoing contract.[14]
After practicing withDordrecht for three weeks, he joined the club on 9 September for the 2019–20 season.[15] After four months, in which he made 16 appearances, he left the club.[16]
On 18 January 2020, Achahbar signed a contract withLiga I sideSepsi OSK.[17] He was part of the team losing the2019–20 Cupa României toFCSB.[18] In the semi-finals, Achahbar had contributed with two goals as Sepsi won 5–1 overPolitehnica Iași to advance to the final.[19]
On 15 September 2023, Achahbar signed forSuper League Greece 2 clubAiolikos.[20]
On 28 december 2023, Achabar signed forVierde Divisie teamWestlandia for the remainder of the season.[21]
