Anand Menon (born September 1965)[1] is Professor ofEuropean Politics and Foreign Affairs atKing's College London in the United Kingdom and was appointed in January 2014 as director of theUK in a Changing Europe initiative.[2] He was a special adviser to theHouse of LordsEU committee.
Prior to arriving atKing's College, London, Menon lectured at theUniversity of Birmingham. Previously he was Lecturer in European Politics atOxford University for ten years and aFellow ofSt Antony's College, Oxford for five.
Menon is the Director of UK in a Changing Europe, a think tank funded by theEconomic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and based atKing's College London.[3]
Menon is a lifelong fan ofLeeds United F.C. and the India national cricket team.[4]
His publications includeEuropean Politics (Oxford University Press, 2007), co-edited withColin Hay andEurope: The State of the Union (Atlantic Books, 2008), and he has written for popular publications including theFinancial Times, theLondon Review of Books andProspect.[2][5]
