Adele concert chronology

An Evening with Adele was the debutconcert tour by English singer-songwriterAdele, in support of her debut studio album,19. The tour was unusual in that it included few dates in the United Kingdom, Adele's home country and the territory where19 was the most successful. Instead, the tour focused heavily on North America.

In 2008, Adele canceled her tours inGermany,Japan, and theUnited States. The cancellation was reported to be due to family issues.[1]In an apologetic blog post to fans, the singer explains she'll honour commitments she has made in New York this weekend, but then she has to fly home. She writes: "There's some problems at home... and, at the moment, there (sic) stopping me from being away for any long period of time. I was really looking forward to touring again and throwing myself back into it all. But my home life needs more attention right now."I apologise from the bottom of my heart for disappointing you all, I'm truly gutted![2]

In a candid interview with Nylon magazine, Adele explained: "I was really unhappy at home and there was a lot of family issues going on... But I got better again - I stopped drinking.""We refer to that period as my E.L.C., my Early Life Crisis. Now I'm sober, I'm like, 'I can't believe I did that.' It seems so ungrateful."

and the tour gained some notoriety when she cancelled tour dates in 2008 in order to spend time with her then-boyfriend, an incident she later expressed regret over.[3]

One of the last performances on the tour took place at the historicHollywood Bowl.Etta James was supposed to appear at the performance but cancelled at the last-minute due to illness and was replaced byChaka Khan.[4] The last performance of the tour was at theNorth Sea Jazz Festival.[5]
