Thean-Nāranj Pool (Arabic:بركة النارنجBirkat an-Nāranj,lit.'pond of thebitter orange') is a small pool in theal-Aqsa Mosque Compound. It is at the compound's western esplanade, between theFountain of Qasim Pasha (Sabil an-Nāranj) and theFountain of Qayt Bay (to its south).

It was also known asal-Rāranj (الرارنج) andal-Ghāghanj (الغاغنج); both are phonetic variations ofan-Nāranj.[1]

It was built in theOttoman period.[1][2] It was restored during the reign of SultanQaitbay and again in 1527 byQasim Pasha, a governor of Jerusalem. In 1922, theSupreme Muslim Council reconstructed the pool, paved it withmarble and encircled it withbanisters. The pool is seven metres wide.[3]
