Amblydactylus is anichnogenus that has been attributed todinosaurs. Thegeneric name, derived from the Greek wordsamblys anddáktylos, means "dull finger". Two species ofAmlydactylus have been named:A. gethingi, which references theGething Formation where it was found; andA. kortmeyeri, which honours Carl kortmeyer who discovered theholotype.
Large dinosaur tracks in theWinton Formation ofQueensland,Australia, at theLark Quarry trackway, were previously identified as cf.Tyrannosauropus and were as such interpreted as belonging to a largetheropod. However,Tyrannosauropus has since been declared anomen dubium and the referred tracks likely belonged tohadrosauridornithopods. Similarly, the large Lark Quarry footprints are also now suggested to belong to an ornithopod, and are most similar toAmblydactylus gethingi, with the suggested referral ofAmblydactylus cf.gethingi.[2][3]
