Amar Prasad Ray was an Indian physician andmalariologist.[2] Born in 1913, he specialized in community health and the management of Malaria epidemic in India.[2] He was an elected fellow (1962) of theIndian National Science Academy and a recipient of the 1974Darling Foundation Prize from theWorld Health Organization Governance Award.[3] He was honoured by theGovernment of India in 1967, with the award ofPadma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award for his contributions to the society.[4] He was married to Kalyani Ray and had three children.
