TheAmani National Congress (ANC) is asocial-liberal political party inKenya. It tends to be more popular among theLuhya people.[1]
The party was established byMusalia Mudavadi in 2015 after he left theUnited Democratic Forum Party, with around 300 UDF members fromNairobi joining the new party.[2][3]
Prior to the2017 general elections Mudavadi formed theNational Super Alliance,[4] which supportedRaila Odinga as its presidential candidate. The parties contested the parliamentary elections alone, with the ANC becoming the fourth largest in Parliament, winning three seats in theSenate and fourteen in theNational Assembly.[5][6]
