TheAmanat River flows through theChatra andPalamu districts in theIndianstate ofJharkhand.
The Amanat originates on theHazaribagh plateau, and then forms the southern boundary ofLawalong Wildlife Sanctuary, in Simaria police station area ofChatra district.[1] Thereafter, it flows almost due west through Palamu district till it joins theNorth Koel River five miles north ofDaltonganj. It flows through a rich, well cultivated valley; and is the principal drainage channel of the east of thePalamu district.[2]
Its tributaries are: Jinjoi, Sapni, Maila and Piri.[2]
