Amílcar Barbuy (29 March 1893 – 24 August 1965) was anItalian Brazilianfootball player and manager.[1]

Club career

He also played forPalestra Itália and laterLazio at the age of 38,[2][3] becoming the oldest player ever to debut in the Italian Serie A in 1931, a record that was only broken in 2016 byMaurizio Pugliesi, at the age of 39.[3][4]

International career

He was the first player in the history of Corinthians to play for theBrazilian national football team, making 19 appearances and scoring five goals.[1][5]

Managerial career

After ending his playing career, he pursued coaching.[1] He managed Lazio,[1][2]São Paulo, Palestra Itália, Corinthians,[1]Portuguesa,[1]Portuguesa Santista,[1] andAtlético Mineiro.[1]

Playing style

A striker turned skilful midfielder, he is considered one of the greatest players in the history ofCorinthians.[1][5]
