Alvøyna orAlvøy is anisland inØygarden municipality inVestland county,Norway. The 12-square-kilometre (4.6 sq mi) island is located west of theHjeltefjorden and it had a population of 760 inhabitants in 2001. It sits just north of the island ofOna and just south of the island ofSeløyna. TheSture Terminal, an oil terminal and endpoint of theOseberg Transport System, was established here in 1988.[1] The village ofAlveim is located on the west side of the island and the village ofTjeldstø lies on the eastern shore.
