Alternate lighting of surfaces (ALiS) is type ofplasma display technology jointly developed byFujitsu andHitachi in 1999.[1][2] Alternate lighting of surfaces uses aninterlaced scanning method rather than aprogressive one. This technique allows native lower resolutionplasma display panels to display at higher resolutions. This technique also helps in prolonging panel life andpower consumption reductions.[3][4][5][6][7][8]
