Alina l'Ami (née Moţoc; born 1 June 1985 inIași)[1] is a Romanianchess player who holds the titles ofInternational Master (IM) andWoman Grandmaster (WGM).
She won the under-10 girls' division of theWorld Youth Chess Championship in 1995[2] and the under-18 girls' section of theEuropean Youth Chess Championship in 2002.[3] Also in 2002, l'Ami won the Women's Balkan Individual Championship inIstanbul.[4] In 2013, she jointly won, withSophie Milliet, the Women's Grandmaster Tournament of the 8th Japfa Chess Festival inJakarta, Indonesia.[5][6][7] The following year, l'Ami took part in theSharjah stage of theFIDE Women's Grand Prix 2013–14.
In the Netherlands she first played chess at theHilversum Chess Society, and since 2011 atEn Passant inBunschoten-Spakenburg.
L'Ami graduatedcum laude in Psychology from theAlexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași. She is married to Dutch chessgrandmasterErwin l'Ami.
