Ali Ghorbani (Azerbaijani:Əli Qurbani,Persian:علی قربانی; born 18 September 1990) is a professionalfootballer who plays as a forward forGol Gohar in thePersian Gulf Pro League. Born in Iran, he plays for theAzerbaijan national team.
Ghorbani started his professional career withNassaji. Later he joinedGahar and reunited with his former coachDavoud Mahabadi, helping them secure promotion toIran Pro League with scoring seven times inAzadegan League. After a successful season inGahar, he joinedMes Sarcheshmeh. In July 2013, he joinedNaft Tehran on a two-year contract.[2]
Ghorbani joinedSepidrood in summer 2016.[3] He was coached byAlireza Mansourian atNaft Tehran and when Mansorian went to Esteghlal, Ghorbani was one of his new players.[citation needed]
On 3 September 2018, Ghorbani joined Slovakian sideSpartak Trnava on a two-year contract.[4]
In the summer of 2019, he joined Iranian ClubSepahan. After getting knocked out by former teamEsteghlal on 10 August 2020, he and a few other club members were sacked by the club.[citation needed]
On 14 August 2020, he signed a one-year contract withAzerbaijan Premier League clubSumgayit FK.[5][6]
Ali Ghorbani was born in theMazandaran province ofIran and originally is a mazani from Kerdabad village in Savadkouh. On 2 October 2020, Ghorbani was called upAzerbaijan byGianni De Biasi.[7]
He made his official debut forAzerbaijan on 10 October 2020, againstMontenegro in aUEFA Nations League match.[8]
