Ali Bahadur II (1832–1873) (r. 1850–1858) was the last ruler (Nawab) ofBanda which was then part ofBundelkhand.[1][2] He decided to join theIndian Rebellion of 1857, he joined forces ofRani of Jhansi, Rao Saheb andTatya Tope and was one of Major Commanders of Rebel force atGwalior and in the aftermath his state was annexed by theBritish Raj. He also helpedTatya Tope inSiege of Charkhari. He surrendered in November 1858 and lived in exile at Indore with Pension of Rs. 36,000 per annum[3] and he died in 1873.[1][4] He was a descendant of PeshwaBaji Rao I and his Muslim wifeMastani.[3]
