Thealguacilillo (Spanishdiminutive foralguacil) is a horseman who parades at the head of thepaseíllo (the ceremonial parade of thebullfighters before acorrida) and wears 17th centuryalguacil clothes. He receives from the president of thecorrida the (simulated) keys of the bullpen. They ceremonially perform the rule of law during the bullfight and transmit the orders from the president to thetoreros.[1][2]
