Alfredtown (known asAlfred Town[4] until 1988, and previously known asThe Shanty) is a rural community in the central east part of theRiverina.[4] It is about 5 km north ofLadysmith and 14 km east ofWagga Wagga.
Alfredtown is on theSturt Highway and consists ofThe Shanty Hotel (otherwise known as The Shanty Tavern & Bistro) and a petrol station combined with small store.
