Alfonso Portugal Díaz (21 January 1934 – 12 June 2016)[1] was a Mexicanfootball player, who played asdefender forMexico in the1958 FIFA World Cup.[2]
Portugal captainedClub América to the 1965–66Mexican Primera División title. He also played forClub Necaxa.[3] In 1967, he appeared in one match for theChicago Spurs of theNPSL
