Alexandru Golban (born 28 February 1979) is a former professionalfootballer who played as aforward. He represented theMoldova national team internationally.
Golban was born inChișinău,Moldavian SSR,Soviet Union. At club level, he was known in 2001–02 season where he received his first national call-up.[1] In February 2004, he left Moldova to Ukrainian sideKarpaty Lviv, signing a three-year contract.[2] He played for the club in twoFirst League seasons, and twoPremier League half-seasons, where he just played four times in Ukrainian Premier League. After receiving the Romanian nationality, he moved to German2. Bundesliga sideEintracht Braunschweig. After the club relegated to theRegionalliga in summer 2007, he moved to Romanian sideCeahlăul Piatra Neamţ and in mid-season to Kazakhstani sideFC Tobol.
Golban has made 15 appearances forMoldova,[3] and he played inUEFA Euro 2004 qualifying and2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying.
Golban holds dual Moldovan-Romanian nationality.[4]
