Alena Kovačková (born 13 June 2008) is a Czechtennis player.[1] She has a career-highjunior combined ranking of No. 8, achieved on 10 June 2024.

Junior career

Whilst ranked European number one in the U14s, Kovackova won the U16 title at the Tennis Europe Masters in Monte Carlo in October 2022.[3] Later that year she became the first girl to win both the U14 and U16 "Player of the Year" awards in the same year.[4]

In July 2023, she won theWimbledon girls' doubles alongside compatriotLaura Samsonová. In the final, they facedHannah Klugman and Isabelle Lacy of Great Britain, winning in straight sets.[5] It was the first Czech pairing to win the title sinceBarbora Krejčíková andKateřina Siniaková in 2013.[6]

Defending the Wimbledon girls' doubles title alongside Samsonová in2024, they lost in the quarterfinals toMika Stojsavljevic andMingge Xu.[7]

She played in thegirls' doubles at the2025 Australian Open alongside her sister, Jana. They reached the semi finals where they lost to American twin sistersKristina andAnnika Penickova.[8][9] However, they then defeated the American twins at the semi final stage of the following Grand Slam to reach the girls' doubles final at the2025 French Open.[10] They won the Girls' doubles at the2025 US Open, winning the final against Laima Vladson of Lithuania and BelgianJeline Vandromme in straight sets.[11][12]

2024: First steps

In 2024 Kovačková played her first ITF main draw, reaching her first semifinal at her 3rd event inSharm-El-Sheik, losing toRenáta Jamrichová. Alena reached another semifinal in her next event inAntalya.

In July Kovačková was awarded wildcard to compete at her first WTA event, losing in the first round of qualification during2024 Prague Open to former championMona Barthel in straight sets.

In August Kovačková reached her 3rd and 4th singles semifinal at back-to-back events in Slovenia, losing toPia Lovrič both times. Kovačková won her first and second doubles titles at those events.

2025: WTA main draw debut

In first months of 2025 Kovačková reached just one ITF quarterfial in singles but won another two titles, including her first title with younger sister Jana Kovačková and the biggest title of her career at 75k tournament inČeská Lípa withIvana Šebestová.

In July Kovačková was awarded with wildcard to compete at WTA event atPrague Open again. This time she beat two former Top 100 playersArina Rodionova andLucrezia Stefanini to make her WTA main draw debut at the age of 17.
