Alen Omić (born 6 May 1992) is a Slovenian professionalbasketball player who plays forMerkezefendi Belediyesi Denizli of theBasketbol Süper Ligi (BSL).

Professional career

Omić started playing professional basketball forZlatorog Laško. In 2009, he signed with Zlatorog and stayed with the club for three seasons until 2012.

On 30 August 2012, Omić signed a four-year deal withUnion Olimpija.[1]

In July 2014, Omić joined theBrooklyn Nets for the2014 NBA Summer League.[2] He returned to the Summer League thefollowing year, for theDenver Nuggets.

On 1 August 2015, Omić signed a two-year deal withGran Canaria.[3] He made a good impression with Gran Canaria right from the start, and was named to the season'sAll-EuroCup First Team.

On 28 June 2016, Omić signed a two-year deal with Turkish clubAnadolu Efes.[4] On 16 January 2017, he left Efes, and signed with Spanish clubUnicaja, for the rest of the season.[5] In April 2017, he won theEuroCup with Unicaja after beatingValencia Basket in theFinals.[6]

On 28 July 2017, Omić signed with Israeli clubHapoel Jerusalem for the 2017–18 season.[7] On 20 January 2018, he left Hapoel and signed with Serbian clubCrvena zvezda for therest of the season.[8]

On 2 January 2019, he signed withOlimpia Milano for the rest of the season.[9]

On 24 June 2019, he signed withJoventut Badalona of theLiga ACB.[10] Omić averaged 11.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. On 11 September 2020, he signed withJL Bourg Basket of theLNB Pro A.[11] Omić averaged 11.4 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. On 23 November 2021, he signed withCedevita Olimpija of theABA League.[12]

On 6 May 2023, he broke the ABA League all-time Offensive Rebounds record with 434 in a Quarterfinals game againstKK FMP.[13]

On 3 August 2023, he signed withGuangxi Rhinos of theNational Basketball League.[14] He averaged 19.43 points, 14.14 rebounds, 3.57 assists in 33.54 minutes in 7 games.

On 6 November 2023, he signed withMetropolitans 92 of the FrenchLNB Pro A.[15][16]

On 8 February 2024, he was back inCedevita Olimpija of fheSlovenian Basketball League and theAdriatic League.[17]

On 6 October 2024, he signed withBudućnost.[18]

On 16 October 2025, Omić signed withMerkezefendi Belediyesi Denizli of theBasketbol Süper Ligi (BSL).[19]

International career

Omić made his debut for the seniorSlovenian national team at the2014 FIBA World Cup.[20] He also represented Slovenia at theEuroBasket 2015, where they were eliminated byLatvia in the tournament's eighth finals.[21][22]
